1. What Cefpiramide sodium for Injection is and what it is used for

Cefpiramide Sodium for Injection, White to yellowish powder. Product of many Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa good antibacterial, effective against staphylococci, nature is a fourth-generation cephalosporins. For many gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa has a good antibacterial effect, but also effective against staphylococci.
[PHARMACOLOGY] 1. Antibacterial activity:
(1) Strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and non-glucose ferment Gram-negative bacillus including pyocyaneum bacteria as well as broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against bacteria including Gram-negative bacteria.This drug is an anti-bacteria agent and has stability in the presence of lactamases produced by all kinds of bacteria.
(2) Good therapeutic efficacy when used in experimental infection in mice.
(3) Bacteria resistant to antibiotics like penicillins, other cephalosporins and aminoglcoside, especially pyocyaneum bacterium are susceptible to this product.

2. Mechanism of action

It has very strong affinity with 1A, 2B and 3 of PBP to inhibit the composition of cytoderm in bacteria, in which way bacteria are killed.

3. How to use Cefpiramide sodium for Injection

[DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION]
The usual adult daily dose is 1~2g per day divided into 2 administrations by intravenous injections or intervenous drop infusions; In refractory or severe infections, a total daily dosage of 4g is divided into 2 or 3 administrations by intervenous drop infusions according to specific symptoms.The usual children daily dose is 30~80mg/kg (body weight)/day divided into 2~3 administrations by intervenous drop infusions; In refractory or severe infections, a total daily dosage of 150mg/kg (body weight)/day is divided into 2~3 intervenous drop infusions according to specific symptoms.

4. Adverse reactions

Adverse reactions are skin rash, hives, itching, and fever and other allergic symptoms. Anaphylactic shock, pseudomembranous colitis is rare. History of allergy to disable, liver, renal dysfunction, the dose should be suitably adjusted to the chemicals. Hypersensitivity reactions including uticaria; fever; joint pains; rashes; angioedema; serum sickness-like reactions; haemolytic anaemia; interstitial nephritis; neutropaenia; thrombocytopaenia; CNS toxicity including convulsions; diarrhoea; nausea; vomiting.
Potentially Fatal: Pseudomembranous colitis
